Summer Reading Program Picnic

We ended the Summer Reading Program with a picnic, games and awards on August 14, 2012.

We thank all the kids and parents for coming to the Wonewoc Public Library Summer Reading Program. We are glad that you spent part of your summer with us. We sure enjoyed seeing everyone each week.

Keep on reading and don't forget to DREAM BIG!

Bubbles anyone?

First the food- sandwiches, chips and all kinds of deserts.
Yummy!
Here is an edible campfire. Doesn't it look good.

Creating the campfires... no matches needed.

One of the games we played was Star, Star, Planet... it is a lot like duck, duck goose.

Everyone received some rewards. The kids who turned in logs each week got additional prizes.

Star Lab Visits Wonewoc

On August 7, 2012, the Star Lab visited the summer reading program.  Because of it's size, we met at Wonewoc-Center Schools. Mr. Paul Kinzer from Galesville, WI, brought the lab to our town and taught us a lot about the stars, moon and planets. Before we went into the star lab we learned about the creation of the universe. We learned a lot about how the stars move. We learned about why we can see certain stars at certain times of the day and year.  Then we had a chance to enter the star lab, and it was like we entered a whole new world. It was amazing what stars and constellations we could see inside the star lab. You can find out more information about Paul Kinzer and his star lab at this website:   seeingstarswi.wordpress.com
